Hi, I am looking to edit some things on a themes stylesheet.
I have been working a little bit on a stylesheet and theme. Someone set it up for me on their server however I decided that now I have web hosting ill do it myself so I have installed the theme etc.. however for some reason it is telling me “If this file were writable you could edit it.”
This is the same for the WordPress default theme also. I guess im going wrong somewhere… if someone could point me in the right direction so that I can edit these themes on my dashboard that would be very helpful indeed.

    Thanks in advance

    Aidan

I sorted it by putting the file permissions as 666.

Just don’t leave it like that after editing!!!
Having them chmoded as 666 = wide open for any hackers. Change it back immediately after editing.

[IMO nobody should ever use that thing, everybody should edit the files on the computer and uploading them via FTP]
