Support » Requests and Feedback » Default “ugly” Permalinks have stopped working

  • Greetings,

I’ve been using WordPress 2.0.1 and have been upgrading as new releases are recommended. For one of my blogs – – I’ve been using default “ugly” permalinks all the time and they have completely stopped working since my upgrade to the 2.6 release. Not only are my permalinks are not working, the <!–more–> code which allows you to divide the length of your post is also not working. And I also discovered that I am no longer able to preview a post to see what it will look like before I publish it either. I’ve upgraded this blog to 2.6.1 and now to the 2.6.2 in hopes that my issues with my default and read more permalinks along with the preview link would somehow correct themselves, but it hasn’t.

I have been reading the forums here and I have yet to find a post that offers a real solution as to what I can do to actually fix this problem with my blog. I am not a person who writes and fully understand code, but I am willing to try some troubleshooting tips to get this blog back up and running again. My hosting company is StartLogic – – Platform Type is Debian, and MySQL is 5.0.45

So any assistance anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
