Support » Plugin: Flowplayer HTML5 for WordPress » Default Mute enabled

  • Hi,

    Great Plugin, thanks.

    How do I ensure that Mute is enabled by default?

    I want to put a video on my home page with autoplay, but want it muted unless the viewer wishes to watch it with sound.

    Looking at the Flowplayer forums, this should be possible, but via some sort of filter – Or perhaps it could be added as an option?

    Many thanks in advance

  • it’s probably possible through a custom filter, but I also created a feature request here:

    Hi bbb0,

    Thanks for the quick response and feature request.

    in the meantime, any idea how to implement a filter to enable this?

    Many thanks.

    Hi solosails,

    You can mute videos with this filter like this:

    function fp_mute_video_by_default( $config, $video_id ) {
      if( $video_id == 5 ) {
        $config['muted'] = true;
      }
      return $config;
    }
    add_filter( 'fp5_js_config', 'fp_mute_video_by_default', 10, 2 );

    This will mute video with id 5, but if you want to mute all videos, you can just drop the if-condition.
