# Default layout widths

 * I’d like to be able to define the default widths for the content, in theme.json
   we have:
 *     ```
       "layout": {
       	"contentSize": "640px",
       	"wideSize": "1920px"
       ```
   
 * But I can’t see how I can do this in the editor, am I missing something, or is
   this only possible by editing the theme files directly?

 * I don’t believe this can be changed with the built-in editor settings currently(
   unless you do it on a block-by-block basis). You can do it by creating a child
   theme with its own theme.json file though, by overwriting that value in the file.

   this is my first step into blocks so wasn’t sure I was missing something basic
