I have WP latest with woo commerce latest, and have had it with many products for a long time. We installed polylang and started using it for pages etc, which is fine. Then we installed this plugin to add translations to the products and categories, but after activating and setting up the plugin we noticed that all pre existing categories and products dont have the default language selected, and so then the category pages cannot be found nor the products. If I edit a category page and just click save, it then registers the default language for that page and the category page appears, same with products. However, we have ~400 products, and 30-40 product categories, and I cannot go into each one and save each one. Is there a solution for this? I cant do bulk edit on products and do 1 page at a time, but it will still take a long time to do all of them, and there is no bulk edit for product categories etc..

    Thanks
    Jon

    Hi Jon,

first check that Product Categories translation is set in the Polylang settings under Languages, Settings, Custom post types and Taxonomies, and also Settings, WooPoly, Features.

then under Polylang settings – “Languages” on the admin menu – a message will come up about some items not having a default language set, with an option to click to set these to the default language: do this before starting to translate,

we’ll try to improve the guide at https://github.com/hyyan/woo-poly-integration/wiki/Getting-Started
but this is just a free plugin extending Polylang/WooCommerce, we can’t duplicate all the Polylang documentation

    regards,
    Jonathan

Thanks that did it, I had already done the first adjustment with the settings to make sure they were enabled, but I never went into languages, or maybe I did and never noticed that message. Maybe that message should appear in the global flash message like most other messages?

    Thanks!

Sure… but that message is by Polylang and part of Polylang standard functionality, not provided by this plugin.
