Is there a way to set a default group for new posts?

Not right now. You could create a new user group, use the Role affiliation feature and set it to subscriber which should be the default group for new users. So all new user will be in this group.

    Hello Gm_Alex!
    Sorry for replying later!

Right now i have my site with one section reserved to one group called "Users".

After i register a new user i am not allowed to see the section.
I can see the section with that user only after i manually assign it to the group.

I tryed doing what you say but didn't worked.
There is another way to assign it automatically?

    Thank you very much!

Having a default group set for new posts/pages would be very, very good.

Ditto for files uploaded, and controlling access to search results.
