# Default Event Template not loading

 * We’ve just installed and have an example.com/events/ URL, but that page doesn’t
   load. PHP logs indicate:

   path/to/exampledotcom/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/default-

   path/to/exampledotcom/wp-includes/template-loader.php on line 89`
 * The template-loader.php supplies one set of paths in a variable… does The Event
   Calendar double that up? Note the double slashes “//” between /templates/ and
   the second /path/to…

 * Really sorry to hear about this error on your site. This is definitely not normal
   behavior, and we have no known bugs that would cause this at this time.
 * You ask:

 * No, The Events Calendar does not alter template-loader.php’s loading of template
   files.
 * It unfortunately sounds like there’s a theme or plugin code conflict on your 
   site. To see if this is the case–or, at the very least, to rule it out–I would
   recommend going through the **complete** set of troubleshooting steps here: [https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/](https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/).
 * After **_each_ step** in that process, see if the issue persists.
