 * Hi,
 * I don’t understand the Default Date/Time Custom function.
 * If I set it to Post/Page Publish then the post immediately expires and I get
   this message after post “You cannot edit this item because it is in the Trash.
   Please restore it and try again.” This is even if I set a future date/time in
   the post itself. What is the point of this?
 * The description says “Set the default expiration date to be used when creating
   new posts and pages. Defaults to none.”
 * So we have to set a custom date/time because there is no “none”.
 * Thanks
 * Daf

 * Hi [@daffydd57](https://wordpress.org/support/users/daffydd57/)
 * The default Default Date/Time Expiration is needed if you want to automatically
   expire new post. For example if you set to 1 week, then every new post that you
   created will expired in 1 week without you set manually each post.
 * “None” missing is definitely a bug and I’ll create a task so our developer can
   fix it in the next release.
 * Thanks for the report

 * I get that – that is “Custom” – but what purpose does “Post/Page Publish” have?
   It seems to literally expire the post before it’s even published.

 * Yes, that is exactly what it does. However we plan to take it down due to very
   less users and cause much confusions.

 * Hey experts,
 * I am also stuck in this situation. I have set up this to custom “+2 days” but
   when i click the publish, my post is going how it’s expiration.
