[Resolved] Default category question

  • I just upgraded and now I see a post in the default category, but there’s nothing there. I’ve never used it.

    I click on the number link and it tells me that I’m looking for something that’s not here.

    I did install the Ultimate Category Excluder plugin, but it’s showing through the sidebar still. Since it’s not empty, it’s showing, but there’s nothing in the posts in that category. I’ve checked a few times.

    Any help would be great, thank you in advance!

  • Use phpMyAdmin and look at the wp_post2cat table. If you find no record there that ‘connects’ a post to that category id, then maybe just zeroing out (value before you change should be 1) the value of the ‘category count’ field in the wp_categories table will fix the problem.

    I did fix it by changing the default category and then just deleted that one.
