    Hello Dears,
if I use the widget “Product Category” of woocommerce (in the sidebar of my single blog) the default category doesn’t appear.
The default category is not empty.
The problem is with every theme, also with default wordpress theme.

  • Hi there, thanks for the screenshot, that really helps understand what your issue is. I’ve loaded up the same widget on my local site with the same number of categories and settings, and I’m unable to duplicate it.

    – Can you please test this with a default theme, such as Storefront or TwentyTwenty and tell us if it’s still happening?
    – Can you please try changing the default category to see if that’s affecting it somehow?
    – Can you please try deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce and see if that helps?

    Thanks!

    Hello,
I made test that you wrote but the error is the same.
Althought I think that I found the bug: If you order by category the first category is missing.
    Look at attached screenshot:

If you order by name there are all the categories, but for my webiste the order by name is wrong: do you have ideas to solve it?

I want to sort categories not by name.

    Thanks

@worldtradedisplay Thanks for the update. With that info, I was actually able to duplicate the issue: https://d.pr/i/UpjdhU

I created a bug report on the WooCommerce repo to see if we can get some feedback. Please monitor this issue here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/25439

In the mean time, as a workaround, you might consider creating a new category, and allowing that first category to be unseen.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any further questions!
