I used Widget Context to hide widgets on all except my posts page, and that was fine. However, now I need to show some widgets on other pages, but when I make the changes, it has no effect. I have tried deactivating & deleting Widget Context, but this makes no difference. I expected the chosen widget to be displayed on all pages again, but it is not. Can you please advise what has to be done to return to the default setting so my site is not permanently impacted by this plugin? Thanks.
I have the latest version of wordpress, and my theme is Twenty Seventeen.

The Widget Context works only when it is activate so it should restore the default visibility rules as soon as you disable the plugin (widgets enabled everywhere where the sidebar area is set to display). Widget Context doesn’t make any permanent changes to the way widgets are displayed so there is no way it can work if the plugin is de-activated.

Be sure to clear your browser cache or view the site as a logged-in user to ensure that a cached version of the page/post isn’t being served.

Thank you Kaspars – I owe you an apology! The Twenty Seventeen theme only has a sidebar for the posts page! When I first used Widget Context it was with a theme that had universal sidebars. So, I’m sorry! I feel a bit of a prat, and I’m very pleased with your plugin as it works a treat!
