Default author showing up along with guest author

Hi,
I think this may be a permissions/capabilities issue as well, but it’s affecting the way the authors appear.
If I add a post using an Admin user account, the guest author function works exactly as it should.
If I add one using an Author-level account, it adds the default user as well as the guest author. (EDIT: Just noticed that it then strips the guest author out completely, showing just the default user)
I’m using Hello Elementor theme with Elementor Pro templates.

For this site, I will now just be setting up everyone as users instead of using guest authors so it won’t be an issue anymore.
There are lots of variables where the guest authors don’t work properly and then do depending on different factors. I did try to list them here but it just got too complicated so I don’t think it would be much use to you (and I’m going to fix the ones that don’t work so the examples won’t help anyway!)
