@lancehaverkamp,
Sorry for the trouble you have. Our plugin is for those users who don’t have woff2 format. So our plugin takes those font format and convert to others required formats.
Thanks
Your plugin does more than convert fonts, it lets users easily configure WordPress to use webfonts; which would be great for everyone. The problem is that your plugin won’t install existing Woff2 fonts. I don’t want to give you a low review if this was an oversight that will be fixed in a later version; but I suspect that it was an intentional choice to exclude users who don’t need to pay you for font conversions.
Please tell me I’m wrong, I’d love to see a future version that lets users install their existing Woff2 fonts.
@lancehaverkamp ,
We are yet not sure if we can convert woff2 back to woff or not. As some browser still doesn’t fully support woff2. We will try to integrate it if possible.
Thanks
Perhaps I did not explain that well enough: All I’m asking for is to let the plugin install and manage existing Woff2 fonts–without converting anything.
Thanks!
@dnesscarkey, I do agree with @lancehaverkamp
It is fair to charge for converting fonts in your server, but if we already have the webfont files you plugin have no use.
Aren’t you interested in implement a function to help us upload ready webfonts?
Thanks
@sirojuntle,
Ya, we are interested to implement it as well. But as of now woff2 is not fully supported by all browsers. It still doesn’t support IE 11 and Opera. So we must have woff as the fall back format for them. That’s why we are having issue to implement it. But it is definitely in our card.
Thanks
Thanks for replying @dnesscarkey .
That is great! I understand your point and it really makes sense.
In my case, I got the full package with .eot, .svg, .ttf, .woff and .woff2 from the vendor.
So I just thought I could use your plugin to help me manage the custom fonts.
Best reagards!
