 * I’ve been using Yoast on a large number of sites and love it. I have a website
that I am now taking over development of (meaning I didn’t build it up myself).
The site is using Types with Custom Fields. One of the Custom Fields name is
city. I have tried every variation of %%cf_city%%, %%cf_City%%, cf_wpcf-city%%,%%
cf_<city>%% etc in the meta description template, both directly on the page’s
meta template and the global template for the specific custom type. The owner
has requested that I update the meta tags to use the custom field values and
I happily reported that this would not be an issue, now it’s not working as expected.
I’m hoping to get pointed in the right direction for debugging/troubleshooting
this issue. The site has multiple versions of sharing plugins and contact forms,
so it seems fairly clear to me that previous developers didn’t fully grasp what
they were doing. Thanks in advance for any advice in trouble shooting.
