 * Hi,
 * I go to upload a default image and when I click save after choosing the file,
   it’s just not there.
 * Any ideas?
    Matt

 * Hey Matt,
 * thanks for reaching out – I’ll gladly help!
    Just to be on the same page here–
   the image doesn’t appear right after you click and open it or it is not there
   after you click “Save Changes” (at the bottom of the page)?
 * Take care,
    Petra

 * After Save Changes.
 * I previously had one there, but removed it, went to add a new one but to no avail.

 * Hey,
 * this is definitely strange. What browser are you currently using? Are you experiencing
   the same issue when switching to another browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari)?
   Also – what format is the image you are tying to upload? Finally, would you mind
   sending me this image so that I can test this on my end?
 * Best,
    Petra

 * I’m using Chrome and on two computers (my home and works). The file is a JPG (
   exported like normal via Photoshop as a Save For Web) uploads correctly. It’s
   only 31Kb and it does upload correctly, as it appears in the Media Library. Just
   doesn’t stay attached in the Related Posts plugin.
 * Instead, what I’ve had to do is copy the image 30 times, rename them and replace
   the static thumbs within the plugin directory.
 * Also, on a side note, I’m pretty sure I used to be able to specify to show only
   posts from the past 12 months. Is that no longer a feature?
 * Thanks!
    Matt

 * Hey Matt, sorry for jumping in, but is that image you were trying to set as a
   default one at least 151×151 pixels big (or bigger)?
 * If it’s smaller than this, our plugin will use the generic ones instead, I’m
   afraid ti say, since it cannot extract it to your thumbnail. Or is it bigger
   than this?
 * As for that last inquiry — yes, unfortunately we had to drop that feature quite
   some time ago, since it wasn’t used at all (just barely) and since it was quite
   confusing for most of our users. Sorry!
 * But please do let me know if you have any more questions or if that image is
   bigger than that size, since I’d love to help you out on this! In any case —
   I’m looking forward to your reply!
 * Take care & have a nice day!
 * Best,
    Silvo

 * Hi Silvo,
 * The image is 310 x 175 pixels, so really shouldn’t be a problem 🙁
 * Shame about the date feature. Just over a year ago I changed the ratio of the
   main image, so I was hoping to only use posts from the last year, so that the
   related posts can also use the new ratio.
 * Thanks!

 * Hey Matt, thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated! Is there a chance
   you could send me that image over, via email, so that I could try it out on my
   end?
 * Here’s my email address: support[at]zemanta[dot]com
 * Would love to test it out on my end, if possible. Let me know! Thanks & have
   a nice day!

 * Hey Matt, big thanks for the image, we truly appreciate it! You found a very,
   very hidden bug, which made us totally excited! 🙂
 * The thing is, you really cannot upload a default image for your thumbnails (for
   blogs without images), as you already found out, **but this only happens when
   you have already set a custom size for your thumbnails.** In your case, they
   are set to 310×175 pixels, right?
 * That’s the first bug, the second one happens when you try to bypass that bug.
 * So, if you disable your _‘Custom Size Thumbnails’_ option, save your settings,
   then suddenly you are able to upload your default image for your thumbnails (
   for blogs without images). But, when that image is uploaded, and when you enable
   your custom sized thumbnails again, that default image is still extracted to
   the default size of our thumbnails (which is 150×150 pixels big). And then that
   small thumbnail is stretched back again to your custom size that you have set
   to 310×175 pixels, making it all stretched out.
 * Not a nice sight, we know.
 * All in all — we are on it! We do have a couple of things to finish first, but
   this is certainly something we are planning to fix as soon as possible, so please
   bear with us until we do.
 * In any case, we are extremely grateful for your cooperation and insight with
   this issue, since we wouldn’t be able to notice it without you. So big thanks
   from our team!
 * And please do let me know if you have any more questions _what-so-ever_ — we’ll
   be more than glad to help you out! Take care & have a nice day!
 * Best,
    Silvo

 * Haha! Thanks for the reply Silvo.
 * So currently, I’ve overridden all 31 static images with the same file naming
   system, just duplicating my image. Should I just keep it like that for the time
   being and wait for the next release? (will the bug fix be in the next release?!?)
 * Many thanks!
    Matt
 * P.S. I wouldn’t need the default image if I could specify only to show the last
   12 months worth of posts 🙂

 * Well, yeah, the best thing would be if you would leave it be for now, until we
   make that fix happen! And yes, it should be fixed in our next release (hopefully
   sooner than later)!
 * And we’re really sorry for that gone feature, but we really cannot make any promises
   to bring it back, I’m sorry say. Hopefully this will also change, but not in
   the foreseeable future. Sorry, I hope you understand!
 * As always — if you have any questions or if you stumble upon any problems, do
   not hesitate to let me know! I’m here to help!
 * Take care!

 * Thanks Silvo!
 * No need to apologise, you do this out of the good of your heart and work very
   heard for free!! So this is fully appreciated.
 * Look forward to the next release 🙂
 * All the best!
    Matt
