  • I got caught out when this plugin was deactivated, but the .htaccess rewrite rules and cache files were not removed. My site was serving up old content that I didn’t know about (being logged in I was bypassing the cache).

  • killed front end of my website and totally wiped the htaccess – had to install a backup of data base and recreate .htaccess content

    look for manual uninstall of W3 Total Cache
