• I installed the WPTouch plugin and it displayed a mobile version on my iPhone. However, when I deactivated it, the mobile version still shows up on all mobile devices I use to load my site. I’m not using any cache plugins, and I’ve cleared the caches on the mobile devices I’ve tested it with, but the WPTouch plugin appears to have permanently modified my site. How do I fix this?

  • It sounds as if you have a caching plugin serving cached mobile pages to your desktop. You may configure your caching plugin not to cache mobile pages nor to serve cached pages when mobile devices are detected. To do so, enter the user agents found under Advanced Options > Custom User-Agents to the “rejected user agents” areas in your caching plugin’s settings. Remember to clear your plugin, browser, and device caches before retesting.

On my system I have the same problem as Plungestep. I also don’t use a cache plugin.
If user click on “mobile theme off” on his mobile browser, after the “safty-question” system displayed the mobile theme.

It’s unclear what you’re referring to here but if you’re not seeing the most current version of your mobile theme on mobile devices or are seeing inappropriate themes on the wrong devices, look to caching as the source. If you’re not running caching plugins, check for any cloud-based services such as CloudFlare or any server-side services such as Varnish. Somewhere along the line, stored older pages may be being served.
