Support » Plugin: FileBird - WordPress Media Library Folders & File Manager » Deactivating the “each user has its own folders” function

    Hello,

I have set up a site and clicked the switch “each user has its own folders” on, as described here:
    https://ninjateam.gitbook.io/filebird/set-folders-for-different-admin-users

Then images were added to folders I have created.

Now there are different requirements: Every User should be able to view every image in every folder, but only admin users should be able to modify them.

I believe that clicking the switch to “off” could solve the first problem and make every folder and its contents visible to all users.

Is this so? Or will other things happen when I click the switch that might be undesirable und irreversible?

    Thanks 🙂

    Hi @gerdski ,

The thing is, you might be mixing “user function” with “role function”.
So, this FileBird’s feature is for users and not roles, which means it is not possible to have “Admin role” get some privileges. User is User.

    Hope that clarifies.

    Kind regards,

OK, but if the switch is off, all files are for all users and nothing gets deleted…right?

    Thanks 🙂
