deactivate gravatar communication

    Hi! How can I deactivate the communication to gravatar services inside virtue theme. I already disabled the “show avatar” function inside wordpress settings, but it is still active according to tracker services.

    Hey,
    If you’ve turned off show avatar then the theme isn’t going to be pulling anything from gravatar. The theme doesn’t have anything but the default WordPress core functions for getting avatar which doesn’t retrieve information from gravatar if it’s turned off. Perhaps you have a plugin pulling it in separately? Can you post a link?

    Hi @ahrndt,
    Which tracker services are you referencing? It’s very possible the cache just hasn’t cleared yet.

    Hi Hannah, I use Ghostery. I have another site with another template. The tracker reacted directly after I disabled the avatar in the settings.

    I think I see, you are using Jetpack, Deactivate Jetpack, then check.

    Yes I do. Is it possible to disable the gravatar function inside jetpack or is it necessary to disable the complete plugin?

    I’m not an expert on JetPack, so I suggest contacting JetPack support. They’ll be able to answer that for you.
