    Hey,
please am a newbie, do consider my question and give me some good information.

If I deactivate and delete the plugin after adding some code to the footer or header, including facebook og:image, will my codes and settings remain in the wordpress core header and setting, or will they be deleted as well?

Absolutely not. When the plugin is deactivated the codes are not injected anymore. Of course if you use a cache system you should empty it.

    ok thank you.

But I will love to have the codes, if not some to be retained. Is there any work around for that?

So, why you would delete the plugin? May be I’m not fully understanding your request. Can you explain me better?

    Thank for your respond.
Why I asked is that, in most cases when one encounter some problem on his or her site, he will be adviced to deactivate all the plugins and reactivate them one at a time so to identify the culprit. Just as is happened to me some hours ago.
If one eventually deactivate the plugin, would the code he added remain on the core theme file, or will they vanish as well?

Hi, I can answer only for my plugins, and when you deactivated them, everything disappear. Plugins should not modify the core file or the theme files.
