# DB Error: connect failed

 * Last week I was using WordPress with no problems. Don’t know if I changed something
   in my set up or not, cause…
 * Today I get this error.
 * DB Error: connect failed
    Please check mysql login, password and database name
   in config/config.php.
 * I checked the config file and everything seems to be fine.
 * (Don’t know if it matters, but I was using WPManagerDX to create or alter the
   WordPress settings)
 * Any suggests?

 * Check you have applied correct database and username in wp-config.php file and
   also check that you have assign required permissions to the database user from
   the hosting control panel..
 * – If all are ok then restart MySQL service and have a check

 * I think everything looks okay, but I don’t know how to restart MySQL.
 * I am on a MAC. I searched Google for help and while it was there I didn’t understand
   it thoroughly enough to try it.
 * If I can’t get a simple way to restart it, can I just delete the DB and create
   an identical one?
 * I also am using HOst GAtor if that is any help to you.
