 * hello,
    i’m using wp v 3.5.6 and create it all files but the database file is
   empty. the web is pdrbalonmano.com/pdrwp/ . is in 1and1.com hosting plan, but
   i test in other host and it’s the same final : db is empty.

 * I’ll modify to alert if the DB is 0 bytes, but I can’t see why it would fail.
 * Let me look into the way it connects to the DB.

 * I think the problem is not the way in which BIU connects to the DB, this would
   currently generate an error and it suggests that the connection is fine. I think
   the problem lies in the way the DB dump is created, using shell_exec.
 * Who is your webhost? Do you know the name of your hosting package? I’ll email
   them to find out.

 * The latest release of the plugin will now alert you and halt if the DB is 0 bytes
   in size (as the backup would be no good anyway). It then recommends you contact
   me using the support form (link on the BIU admin page) and tell me who your webhost
   is.
 * One user has already followed these steps and I’ve chased up their webhost. It
   might mean a little fix required to the plugin but if that is the case I’ll work
   on it over the weekend.

 * Confirmed as being a problem with shell_exec. Fixed in version 1.4.2.
