Support » Plugin: 12 Step Meeting List » Day Default when searching for meetings

  • We’ve been getting a lot of calls lately from users of our website complaining that the day is wrong when they search for meetings. I try to tell them that it’s alright – the website’s not broken. That’s usually their go-to.

I remember when I was first working with our website, and the Meeting Guide plug-in, that the meeting search day would always default to the current day. What I think is happening is that the browser is storing the last search and keeping that day as the default so that if I search for a Saturday meeting on Tuesday, the search bar will default to Saturday for the rest of the week (or forever) as opposed to starting on the day it actually is. I hope that explanation makes sense.

My hypothesis is that I can’t change this manually because I get calls from random members telling me on a Monday that the search is only showing them Sunday, or Thursday, or Saturday meetings. Is there a way for me to set the default to the current day?

What’s strange is that when I’m logged into our website’s WP Dashboard to make changes on the back-end, the meeting search always defaults to the current day. If I open a private browsing window so that I’m “logged out” while I’m logged in under a “regular” window, the day is not the current day. Just not sure if I can do anything or if I need to sit tight and tell users to refresh the browser page, or delete their cookies, or press F5 or whatever. Thanks folks.
