[Resolved] Date question revisited?

  • Hi – awesome plugin (vsn 1.5.2) !!!! It is so powerful even if it’s tricky to customize. I love it.

I just discovered that I can use a date field rather than a text line in my forms. But I have a very good regex statement that seems to work fine so I don’t know if it’s worth changing anything at this point.

    #^(0[1-9]|1[012])[- /.](0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])[- /.](19|20)\d\d$#i

Do you know if anyone has had any success either hooking into a date picker, or even using a jquery validator so that it reformats the content as it’s being entered?

    Thanks again!
    Bob

  • If you store your dates as text, you won’t be able to use the field for sorting or for searches and dates are compared. If you can, you should use a date field for dates, it’s just a lot easier than trying to translate strings.

great great point! thanks for the tip!
