Support » Fixing WordPress » Date instead of title

  • Using WP 2.1.3. I’m making some adjustments to the Default theme. Basically, I don’t want to show any title, and instead using the auto-generated date of the day as title (e.g “Thursday, May 3”). Works fine everywhere, except in the navbar in the Single Post template. It generates previous and next links, and those are shown with the title instead. The code:

    <div class=”navigation”>
    <div class=”alignleft”><?php previous_post_link(‘« %link’) ?></div>
    <div class=”alignright”><?php next_post_link(‘%link »’) ?></div>
    </div>

    Is there a way to make previous_post_link() and next_post_link() to show a date instead? I need to format the date too.
