    Hi Tobias!

Love your plugin - I'm using it on so many sites now along with Custom Post Type UI and Advanced Custom Fields ... making life so much easier for us here.

    Following on from http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-codepress-admin-columns-sorting-by-custom-date-field ....

Question for you regarding date formats in columns - ACF uses the php and JS formats - today is 19 Nov 2012, so the import format would be

That's working perfectly with all plugins and on the website, but shows as August 21, 1970 as a date-formatted column :-(

Would it be easy for me to amend your plugin to use the date format I've got? Would this make sense to allow flexibility in the Admin Columns interface to define source date format maybe? :-)

    Hi Mark,

I am also a fan of ACF, it is a really nice plugin and it works well with Admin Columns.

I have noticed that ACF has choosen a default date value that is not complaint with "ATOM" - 'yy-mm-dd' (Same as RFC 3339/ISO 8601), which is also the format WordPress uses internally.

To give better support for a greater variety of dates I will add a fix in the next release of Admin Columns ( v1.4.6.5 ). This fix will parse all custom dates with strtotime(). This will make it work with Advanced Custom Fields even better and will prevent me from adding an additional field to define the source date.

If you want a beta just let me know and I will send you a copy.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Would love a beta - love the proactive approach, and that would be brilliant.

Thank you! Look forward to it

The outputted date format is determined by your general settings. Just go to Settings > General > Date Format and you can change it there.

Nice to read such an enthusiastic response!
