 * Hello,
 * I am trying to import posts with a custom date. What is the acceptable format
   for this?
 * I’ve tried “3/13/2011” and “Sunday, March 13, 2011” (Date and Long Date in Excel)
   but neither seem to work.

 * This wont work for you. You should format to this WP format like **yyyy-mm-dd
   hh:mm:ss**. And if you dont need time just replace with 00:00:00, but cant leave
   it blank. Just little tweaking will work fine with your csv.
 * In excel
    Choose the column containing date Right click and go to “Format Cells”
   In Number >> Category >> Custom >> Type And insert yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss in text
   box You can see hh:mm:ss is replaced with 00:00:00 if not given. Click Ok
