# Date format

 * Hi,
 * Does the plugin offer any way to change the date format? For instance, I would
   like to change it to `d M Y`, as opposed to the default `F d, Y`.

 * Assuming you’re using the widget:
    1. Go to your Dashboard, then head to _Widgets > WordPress Popular Posts_.
    2. Under _Date Format_ (right below the “Display date” checkbox), select the first
       date format (the one with the link “WordPress Date Format”) and hit the _Save_
       button below to apply changes.
    3. Remember the link from step 2? Click on it and you’ll land on the _General Settings_
       page. Scroll down to _Date Format_, select _Custom_ and type in your desired
       type format.
    4. Finally, hit the Save Changes button to apply changes.
 * If you’re using either the [wpp_get_mostpopular() template tag](https://github.com/cabrerahector/wordpress-popular-posts/wiki/2.-Template-tags#wpp_get_mostpopular)
   or the [[wpp] shortcode](https://github.com/cabrerahector/wordpress-popular-posts/wiki/1.-Using-WPP-on-posts-&-pages),
   you can use the `stats_date_format` parameter to set your custom date format (
   see _Dashboard > Settings > WordPress Popular Posts > Parameters_ for more.)
