• Hi again! I was hoping to clarify the “sort by date” option.

We have a google photos shared album with multiple people contributing. If I create a new post, select multiple photos, and select yesterday’s date, no photos load.

If I create a NEW album in google photos, then go into the shared album in google photos and add all the photos contributed from yesterday’s date to the new album, all the photos show up. I did not tell it to display the new album specifically, it was still set to the “multiple photos” option with yesterday’s date.

Here’s the strange part – I can then go in an delete the new album, leaving only the shared album remaining, and all the photos still display.

    I guess I have 2 questions:

Should I be able to use photonic and pull photos from a specified date when those photos reside in a shared album and have been contributed by multiple users?

    AND

Does photonic re-query google photos to add any new photos that may show up after the initial gallery addition to a page?

I’m relatively new to setting this up and I definitely appreciate the support and tips given in this forum!

I am not sure if there is a concept of a “shared photo” in Google – Google has “shared albums”. Google’s API does not allow you to apply date filters for albums as per its documentation (https://developers.google.com/photos/library/reference/rest/v1/mediaItems/search). So, you wouldn’t be able to use a date filter for shared photos, unless those photos also exist in your own albums (and thereby, in your own media items).

Does photonic re-query google photos to add any new photos that may show up after the initial gallery addition to a page?

Photonic will not re-query anything – it will pull information live. It is basically a transparent layer that shows your photos from Google as of the moment that the page is accessed, and it does not need to do any offline refreshes.
