# Date Base Error

 * Hi,
 * I downloaded 2 templates.
 * When I apply one template all the layout is displayed properly and everything
   working well, as well as all the data is displayed.
 * When I apply the second one I am getting a database error:
    “WordPress database
   error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds
   to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ” at line 1] SELECT
   cat_id, cat_name FROM”
 * The data is not displayed (others, links) and the layout is a mess.

 * i would say that whatever theme that is isn’t converted to be used with 2.1.x
   right now. You can either try to convert it yourself or contact the theme author.

 * It’s possible that theme is not ‘ready for 2.1’.
 * Might need to make sure the [template tag](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags),
   [wp_list_bookmarks](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_bookmarks)
   is being used in the sidebar.php.
