I need to create dynamic tables in WordPress that are populated with fields from Microsoft Dynamics 365. For that I use the AlexaCRM plug-in.

At first I applied DataTables directly hard-coded in the HTML and with their JS and CSS libraries it almost worked… But the responsive part isn’t working properly. I guess the problem has something to do with DataTable’s CSS overlapping with the WP Theme’s CSS.

After some research online I’ve found your plug in. I’ve added the Responsive Tables Extension and now finally I have actually responsive tables in WP.
My only problem is how do I populate these datatables with data from Dynamics365 through the AlexaCRM plug-in.
I tried the “PHP code in table cells” but the plug-in uses Twig and it does not read it.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m sorry that I have to disappoint you here, but it is not possible to populate TablePress tables with dynamic content, like that from your Microsoft Dynamics 365 software.

The better approach should be to try to make the responsiveness feature work for your current implementation. Which mode of responsiveness have you used (from the Extension)?

    Regards,
    Tobias

I just imported their libraries to my “header.php” file.

I imported the DataTables JS and CSS files plus the Responsive Extension files from https://datatables.net/download/release.

I also already tried to import the table with Bootstrap4 from here: https://datatables.net/extensions/responsive/examples/styling/bootstrap4.html

For both I also imported jQuery library to “header.php”:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.3.1.js"></script>

Thanks in advance for your time!

    Hi,

this sounds good to me, but for specifics on that, you should ask in the DataTables forums.

My question was actually more: Which mode for responsiveness (via the Shortcode parameter) did you use with TablePress (and the Extension)?

    Regards,
    Tobias

TablePress plug-in worked fine with the collapsed mode, which was the one I was looking for.
I just downloaded from https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/ and added the plug-in.

I already have my responsive DataTables (kinda) working with regular Bootstrap instead of Bootstrap4.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi,

ok, to make the collapse mode work with standard DataTables, you’ll need the add-on from https://datatables.net/extensions/responsive/
However, I have no idea about the Bootstrap integration, as I have never used that, sorry.

    Regards,
    Tobias
