Database Update Required with v3.4.2 (16 posts)

I updated my blog using the automated updater within WordPress and once completed it redirected me to a page saying:

    Database Update Required

WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version.

The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.

I clicked "Update WordPress Database" and it redirected me to a page with just the WordPress logo and nothing else.

I now can't access the Dashboard of the blog and when I do log in it always points me to that page at /wp-admin/upgrade.php

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I didn't even get the db update message just redirected to the upgrade.php page not found.

I downloaded the package myself, FTP'd upgrade.php into wp-admin and ran it. It upgraded the db and everything works now.

    Hope that helps!

    Try:
    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme's folder inside wp-content/themes and adding "-old" to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    - re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress.

    - running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

I'll try remat457's method first. It's a kind of important site!

I've tried esmi's method and I'm still getting the same issue :/

When I visit the admin panel: http://i.imgur.com/Uw3Of.png
When I click the button on that page: http://i.imgur.com/Q9wvJ.png

    Any further ideas?

Did you reset the plugins using Phpmyadmin?

I don't have access to Phpmyadmin as it's not my server :(

My problem is also described here, even if it's in an older version.

I've backed up and deleted all the plugins in the wp-content/plugins folder and the issue still isn't resolved.

Do you have access to any kind of database management tool?

I have now accessed the db and changed the plugin field and it didn't help at all.
What other fields could we change?

None. Have you checked your site's error logs for clues?

Why not? Have you asked your hosts for assistance?

I have asked and unfortunately I am not able to gain access to them.

I'm sorry but without some more information we can't really offer anything else that might help you.
