# Database Update Required

 * I have a website name [http://www.iosesolution.com](http://www.iosesolution.com)
 * I have recently purchased hosting and restore the website date to the server.
   The hosting team fix all the problems. But now when i’m trying to login wp-admin
   it shows this message ‘WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your
   way, we have to update your database to the newest version.
 * The database update process may take a little while, so please be patient.’
 * But I’m afraid if I update the WordPress latest version then my website will 
   not work as it works on the theme.
    so open my website [http://www.iosesolution.com](http://www.iosesolution.com)
   and let me know what can i do to reinstall the theme or install new themes or
   do all the stuff as wordpress admin.

 * That’s a valid concern.
 * But whether it breaks your theme or not, you need to update the database before
   you can continue to work on the site, because WordPress itself has changed since
   you created that backup and REQUIRES this database upgrade. **There’s no way 
   around that.**

 * The only way to get into the dashboard to work on your site is to click the link
   to update the database, as I mentioned earlier.
 * You’re using the freely distributed Hestia theme, which was updated as recently
   as April 19, 2021. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with the latest version of
   WordPress.
 * And if you upgrade and have any problem with the theme, you can always post in
   the theme’s support forum right here at WordPress.org, where the theme’s developer

 * Thank you George. I will update wordpress and let’s see what happen. Just one
   question, If i update wordpress database, will it effect my website date? Or 
   will my website database also change?

 * Updating the WordPress software or upgrading the WordPress database will not 
   change the **publication date** of any content on your website.

 * Hey George, my website is now working and I can access WordPress admin easily.
   But now I’m facing a problem with the media library. Some images of my website
   are not showing.
    How can I retrieve my old images? is there any solution?
