# Database update hangs (fails)

 * When I login to my website through blog/wp-login.php I get a screen that says“
   Database Update Required
 * WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update
   your database to the newest version.
 * The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.:
 * WHen I click the “update wordpress database” the text goes away and I see a blank
   box and nothing ever happens. I have left it open for hours and there is no change.
   I have tried various browsers and computers.
 * Please advise. Thank you.
