    Good Day

    Our donations are not coming through and we cant update the database.

    Hi there,

    We’ll need a bit more context to be able to truly help, but I am going to give this my best educated guess:

    Usually when the updates stall out, it’s related to a server configuration like a very old version of MySQL.

    1. First, I’d recommend taking a backup of the site that you can confidently restore from. Here’s an article we wrote that explains more clearly how to do that: https://givewp.com/backup-for-faster-troubleshooting/
    2. Next, enable Advanced Database Updates in Donations > Settings > Advanced.
    3. Next, run the update in Donations -> Tools -> Data, and based on the Run Order columns, re-run the create_revenue_table update.
    4. Check the logs at Donations > Tools > Logs for errors. If there are any errors, pass those along here.
    ​4. Last, navigate back to Donations > Settings > Advanced and disable Advanced Database Updates.

    If that doesn’t resolve your issue, we’ll need a more clear description of exactly what’s going on to be able to pinpoint it.

    Pass along any log messages you see, as well as you rsystem info.

    Navigate to Donations –> Tools –> System Info (tab) and click the button to “Get System Report” and copy/paste that in your reply here.

    ​That will give me some more context to be able to help.

    One final thing to note is that some time today we are planning a patch release to fix some backward compatibility issues with older versions of MySQL.
