[Resolved] Database restore – can't see the posts

  • Hello,
I’ve recently backed-up my database using this tutorial: http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database
(At that time, I was using WP 2.9).
For some reason I had to reinstall WP on my server. I am now running the 3.0.1 version. Trying now to restore the database from the backup I made back then using this tutorial http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/restore/
The restore seemed successful, everything looks like it’s there in my phpadmin. However, I can’t see any of the older posts in my WP admin, Only the “hello world” default post. I know handling databases is sensitive, but from there, could anyone tell where I could have gone wrong?

You can’t restore a 2.9 db backup into a 3.0 database. You need to install WP 2.9, import your backup and then upgrade to 3.0.1.

Thank you for your help. I will do that.

Downgrade and import successful, thank you,
