# database repair failed

 * Woke up to database not found error and followed directions for database repair
 * It failed and suggested posting the following here and ask for assistance
 * wp_options: Table is marked as crashed
    wp_postmeta: 1 client is using or hasn’t
   closed the table properly wp_blogs: 1 client is using or hasn’t closed the table
   properly
 * When posting a blog entry yesterday it did seem to act odd, yet with a refresh
   behaved and appeared fine.
 * any suggestions on how to resolve? I believe I have a backup from Sunday – I 
   hope.

    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder
   inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using
   [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management application
   your host provides.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by Phpmyadmin.
 * – repairing the database tables again.

 * Followed the directions and the repair worked – removed -old and -hold and removed
   permit repair line from config and all is well.
