 * my isp added more server memory and in the process the database connection was
   lost and wp instructed me to insert the following in the wp-config file = define(‘
   WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’, true);
 * the following was reported after running repair and wp asks me to get what to
   do next on our forum =
 * wp_posts: 3 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
    wp_comments:
   19 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly wp_options: Table is
   marked as crashed wp_postmeta: 26 clients are using or haven’t closed the table
   properly

 * we are not set up with an auto-backup of our db with the isp. maybe in situations
   like this it would be a good idea 🙂 we’ve tried many backup plans and currently
   doing it manually via phpMyAdmin
 * the isp has the above report but the maintenance of the database is not within
   our service agreement. it just resides on the server.
 * the site seems to be behaving normally. i am wondering…
    how old are these broken
   elements. the db is 5-plus yrs old what repair engine is assessing this issue
   would optimizing ( another wp option ) make a difference how do i revisit the
   wp page that runs these db tests

 * When you have good backups you can freely experiment, even agressively experiment.
