 * After moving a site to a new directory, I can’t log in. It wants to default to
the old URL instead of the new one. Is there an easy way to fix this or do I
need a mysql wiz to hire?
 * Aside from that, of course all my images are gone. Any suggestions for that?
   Sorry… amateur issues.

 * Hi,
 * Moving WordPress installation folder is not as easy as copying a folder and pasting
at another place. Moving WordPress installation should be done with extra care
because it may brake your website.
 * In your case, I would suggest you to restore your whole WordPress website with
last backup. Once you restored your Website, follow below mentioned guide to
   move WordPress website.

 * A link to your site would also be helpful so people can see the issue you’re
   having..

 * Hi there. Unfortunately I cannot restore it. I did try to take extra care with
help of support, but obviously I made a mistake. I successfully created a new
database and moved the new site in the place of original site, but the old site
that I moved to sub directory now has broken images and no way of logging into
   CMS.
 * Site is [http://www.metalsludge.tv](http://www.metalsludge.tv)
 * Old (broken) site is at [http://www.metalsludge.tv/classic](http://www.metalsludge.tv/classic)
 * Thanks for taking a look.

 * Try setting the urls with one of these methods:
 * As for changing the image urls see:
    [https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Changing_Your_Domain_Name_and_URLs](https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Changing_Your_Domain_Name_and_URLs)

 * Your missing images are due to the links getting broken when you archived the
site, for example; the logo image is linked to
    [http://metalsludge.tv/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/sludgetop.png](http://metalsludge.tv/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/sludgetop.png)
   when it should be [http://metalsludge.tv/](http://metalsludge.tv/)**classic/**
   wp-content/uploads/2013/04/sludgetop.png.
 * I haven’t quite got my head around how you’ve archived the old site. Was it originally
at the web root (metalsludge.tv) and then you moved it to classic?
    Are you running
a single version of WordPress or did you install a second copy (one for the new
site and one for the old)?

 * It was originally at the root, yes. The new site was built on another server
with its own database. Then the old site was moved to the subdirectory and the
new database and site was moved to the root directory.

 * Gosh I really messed this up. If I try changing the siteurl in options in myPHPadmin,
feature images show up. Then if I attempt to log in to the dashboard, it reverts
back. None of these articles are helping me. I tried to do this correctly with
the guidance of tech support and despite my better judgement I tried to just
follow the steps instead of hiring someone to do it.
