Database full but WP says no posts

  • Hi,

My wordpress shows no posts neither in the admin and the front, while the database il full of 655 pages and 10 posts. The problem started when i was using a plugin i wrote, that import data from xml sources and create posts on wordpress. My plugin worked fine for weeks, but today i get an error while importing about memory usage. The error message was:

Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1966080 bytes) in /var/www/web6/web/wp-includes/wp-db.php.

After that error wp says that there are no posts, but i use a plugin named pageMash that allow me o see pages on wordpress and my posts are still on the db.
If i try to access directly the page for modify a post wp show correctly the post and allow me to modify it, but the post still not appare.
I tried to create a new post and again wp allow me to create, but the page is not visible.

What ca i do for fix my wp?

  • First try and deactivate plugins and switch themes.

    Done, nothing changed, same problems.

Maybe update permalinks structure. Or is .htaccess getting in the way (rename it temporarily if possible).

Ok i’ve changed the permalink structure from my personal to a default one, and it worked!

My posts a pages are back, seems that my custom permalink structure was consumin too much memory, and the default permalink structure consume less memory. In fact if i change back the permalink structure to mine the problem return.

I keeped the default permalink structure, the entire site is much faster, but now there is another problem. I’ve imported other data, now i have 1500+ pages the site works well unless for the page that lists wordpress pages (/wp-admin/edit-pages.php), that now show a white screen with no errors.

    It’s another memory related problem?

p.s. i’ve tried to deactivate plugins and changed the theme, same problem.

WordPress won’t do too well with 1,500 pages. There’s a recent wp-testers email list thread that might interest you:
