Database errors – Incorrect file format

    When I access my WordPress Blog in a browser I am given the message –

    ‘Error establishing a database connection’

    I enabled automatic repair of the database tables within my wp-config, as instructed, and ran the repair function. However, it says that some database problems cannot be repaired and that I should post the errors here –

    wp_posts: Incorrect file format ‘wp_posts’
    wp_comments: Incorrect file format ‘wp_comments’
    wp_options: Incorrect file format ‘wp_options’

    Can anyone help me?

    Do you have a recent database backup?

    I’m afraid not.

    I have checked the database details over and over in wp-config and there is not problem there. It just seems to be these tables.

    I’m afraid it looks like your database has been damaged. Try asking your hosts if they have a backup.

    They tell me they don’t have a backup but have set the technical team onto the issue.
