    Hi all,

My hosts have had some hardware failure and switched me across to a new machine at the backend. The url remains the same, however my ftp login details have changed.

Since this move, my site has disappeared from the face of the earth… the page now shows in firefox:

    Error establishing a database connection

    and in IE:

The website cannot display the page
    HTTP 500
    Most likely causes:
    The website is under maintenance.
The website has a programming error.

As this is my main business site, im a bit annoyed about this and i’m yet to receive a response from my host for my support ticket logged there as critical many hours ago.

As im sure you can imagine, im chomping at the bit to try and get my businesses site back up and running, so I’ve logged into myadminphp thingo.. and the database appears to be there and running fine… I’m now at a loss to be able to determine what needs to be changed for me to get the database to connect to the app so my site will load.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Cheers,
    dan

  • Is it possible they gave you a new database password? That would be specified in your wp-config.php file.

Highly doubtful that they would… all the databases are stored on dedicated mysql.domain hosts as well.. so there shouldn’t be a fear of data-cache or loss via “localhost” changing…

In fact, actually, as I logged into phpmyadmin with the supplied username and password from the config, the password is okay.

Somehow… the config file became corrupted and all the data switcheroo’d. Luckily i had a local copy and uploading that helped… I now get a more indepth error message:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@cleverwebs.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

If I use console to open up my error log for this domain I get the following:

[Tue Dec 16 01:26:37 2008] [error] [client 124.185.45.64] Premature end of script headers: index.php

The actual index.php file looks okay tho..

    Any ideas?

resolved… again.. it was to do with a muddled db host in the config files.
