Well, I was warned that all themes were going to disappear, what I didn’t know is that not only that was going to happen but also there would be no posts at all and a big fat error on the top part of the blog. I have a backup of the old version, but I really wanna be able to function the same way without having to downgrade. The error I get is the following: Database error: [Unknown column ‘post_date_gmt’ in ‘where clause’] SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2004-07-30 16:10:59’ AND (post_status = “publish”) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 20 Whatever that’s supposed to mean, I checked for the SQL preferences on the server and everything was linked properly. I’t would be highly appreciated if someone could provide me with some help. Thanks a ton in advance! I was going through the steps and none of them seemed to work, so I decided to replace the wp-login.php file with the code that was given at that website. You could try getting the code again, copying only what is between the , pasting it into WordPad, saving as ‘wp- login.php’ and uploading. Alternatively, just upload an original wp-login.php( if you haven’t got a copy, download from the link at the top of the page ) Once that is sorted, we can get back to the other problem 🙂 Do you have phpmyadmin? A url would be good too – help will be here 🙂 * Anonymous * [21 years, 9 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/database-error-help-please-xd/#post-77747) * wow wow, thanks!!! my site is this h t t p : / / l i c e n c e t o s p i l l . n e t i upgraded to 1.2 version an hour ago… and after using the fantastico thingie on my server to do the upgrade i got this greeting me on my homepage: Database error: [Unknown column ‘post_date_gmt’ in ‘where clause’] SELECT DISTINCT* FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2004-08-15 20:35:59’ AND (post_status = “publish”) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 6 and the OLD TEMPLATE! arghhhh!! are all my old stuff and tempalte and posts gone??? i havent done a backup yet! and then i tried to login, and to my horror, my password isnt working and so i click on “forgot password?” and was emailed a new password. still i couldnt log in. i tried changing the wp-login: Replace: $user_login = $user_data[’user_login’]; with: $user_login = $user_data->user_login; like what you had suggested in yoru faq, nothing’s changed. and then , i copied this thing when the upgrade had taken place… just in case something cocks up… Upgrading… Initializing Parameters – Done. Generating MySQL Backup – Done. Generating Files Backup – Done. Copying New Files – Done. Upgrade completed Your installation of WordPress was upgraded.
