# Database Error

 * Oh great, this is exactly why I post-poned upgrading my wordpress. I did the 
   installation by the book, and noticed that the flashuploader wasn’t working at
   all. Then it said that I should upload from the wordpress root folder also every
   file. And bam, database error. Can’t get to my site at all. Here look-> [http://www.dangerdanger.org/](http://www.dangerdanger.org/)
   what the heck am I supposed to do now? It’s all gone.
    I followed this post:

   How come he says that ALL the files should be uploaded and in the wp installation
   giude we shouldnt upload the themes and the other one? I’m confused and very 
   very angry at this.

 * That is good news because if you followed the [instructions](http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended)
   you always have a backup to fall back on!!
 * The database error is likely a result of a wrong value in your wp-config.php 
   file. You might want to restore your original wp-config.php file from your backup.
 * You might also want to review Steps 7 and 8 of [Upgrading WordPress Extended](http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended).

 * No I have no backup, stupid me thought this would run smoothly.

 * Everything seems to be as it used to in the wp-config.php file, that domain and
   password is as they used to.

 * Before doing a thing I would want to get at least a database backup. See [Backing_Up_Your_Database](http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database).
 * If you don’t know the proper values for your wp-config.php file you may want 
   to ask your host.
 * Then I’d try Steps 7 and 8 of [Upgrading WordPress Extended](http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended).
 * If that doesn’t work, leave an email address here and I’ll contact you directly–
   but if you do leave an email address, please do your database backup prior to
   leaving that email address.

 * I have done all that, I made a backup of the database aswell. my e-mail is [moderated].

 * Resolved. wp-config.php needed correct values.
