 * any clues how to fix this?

 * I dont, I just moved the site from an old server. so its on the new server but
   not working. the old version of the site is working but the server is not stable
   for some reason so I cant back up etc.

 * Perhaps the unstable server is problematic. Did you contact your host for support
   with this? Also see if you have any working copy of the database?
