# Database cache issue, or theme problem?

 * Hello, my site is not yet live, but I would like to know if the following problem
   sounds like a WordPress database cache issue or a WordPress installation issue,
   as opposed to a theme issue. I understand that paid themes are not supported 
   here. But I don’t think this is a theme issue.
 * I’m using the Genesis-sample child theme. I changed the function .php file to
   allow for a logo image to be added via the dashboad, and it worked just fine.
   I changed my mind and removed that code, restoring the php exactly as it had 
   been before. But now, the logo still shows, even when I have the theme’s ‘dynamic
   text box’ checked, which calls for the site title and description to display 
   instead of a logo. Here is what makes me wonder if this is a wordpress installation
   issue–
 * To troubleshoot, I created a new folder, named it ‘Genesis-sample4’, copied the
   original sample theme’s files and used ‘Genesis-sample4’ as the new name, and
   uploaded it. The exact same files work properly. Only the name was changed.
 * So, it seemed as if something was wrong with the original ‘Genesis-sample’ folder.
 * So next, I copied the original ‘Genesis-sample’ folder and its contents — the
   problematic one that displays the logo even when the ‘dynamic text box’ is checked–
   did not rename anything, and uploaded it to a different WordPress installation.
   It works perfectly.
 * I went back to the original site and re-installed Genesis and the Genesis-sample
   theme. No luck, the logo still shows.
 * I am using a PC, Windows 7, and tested in Chrome 42.0.2311.90 m and Firefox 37.0.1.
 * So, does this sound like there is a cache issue in the WordPress database and
   if so, how would I change it? ( I am not leery of going into the database.)

 * Not sure do you installed a cache plugin, or do you enabled cache? If you are
   using some hosting which support cache in their hosting level, it need a little
   hours to update their cache, however in this case you can disable or refresh 
   cache in CPanel or any other place.
 * Sometimes….., you can just remove your cache in your browser… 🙂

 * Hi Thomas,
 * Thanks so much for your help. I don’t have a cache plugin, but I think I will
   get one. So, it turns out that it was something stuck in the database. I went
   to wp_options, selected browse, started looking through everything and found 
   the theme_mods_ related to the theme that would not display site-title and description.
 * I think it was theme_mods_genesis-sample. I deleted it (along with other theme_mods
   that I didn’t want, but I think theme_mods_genesis-sample was the one that was
   preventing the title and description from showing). The title and description
   show now, as they did before.
 * Also, I saw another one called theme_mods_ tempraryrename. I can’t remember if
   I deleted that one as well, but thought I would mention it anyway–just in case.
 * Thanks again and now I am off to look into the cache plugins.
