Database and data collection

    I am trying to find out if WordPress is the right software for what I’m looking to do. I’ve been playing with it or about a month with a simple website and I would like to try something more involved. I would like to make a website that starts with a log on page and takes registered users to a “data collection page” if this is the right term. The page would have the clients basic info on the top retrieved from a database. The bottom section would have a “form” with a few open text boxes for the client to fil out each and every day. The client would access this page several times a day to fill it out completely. After midnight, a new clean page would need to be displayed. However, between the top and bottom there needs to be some sort of calendar to allow the client to go back and review previous days. There would be several hundred clients each with a new page every day. The registration would be entered manually by me as well as any personal info that would be displayed on the top of the screen. Is WordPress the right software or should I be looking somewhere else? All opinions are welcome.

    Would there be any visible pages for users that are not logged in? Can the logged in user see only their own pages?
    WordPress is for publishing, and the content can be anything. You would need to use a plugin to change the defaults and hide things, and to make it only have the narrow range of content that your users enter into the form. There doesn’t seem to be that much overlap, to me.

    Yes, there is a main site that is open to all. The members site would be accessed by clicking a button from the main site. Each user would see only their own information retrieved from a database once they log in. Each would see the same blank form and be able to enter text information into it. Once saved the client could continue to enter info into the form for the rest of the day or go back to previous days and update their info. The main site is a WordPress site.
