I’m very new to WordPress and have spent the evening reading through the (really great) documentation and nosing around some free themes to see how the pro’s do things.
I want to have a static front page with several separate sections (About/Contact/Costs/Aims) as well as three spotlight post excepts. Plus a category page and a single article page for the posts. The website is for a friend so I wont be supplying the content (so ease of use is important)
So two questions
1 – The about/contact/costs/aims sections on the main page, is it better/easier to create a category for each of these items and the content be a single post within these categories and thusly show up where I specify posts from this category, OR is it better to create theme options for my design in which the user add’s this info?
2 – For the 3 spotlight article excerpts, if you were me, would you create a spotlight category in which the top 3 article excerpts appear in place, OR would you use the confusing seeming sticky function?
The documentation is great so I can probably figure out how to do it, but I would benefit greatly from your experience on choosing the best way in which to do it!
Thank you in advance 🙂
