Data error in Search Console / Analytics
-
Hi,
I’m getting this error when opening the Site Kit for the first time in a session. I tried to reset the Site Kit connection but I’m still getting the same error.

Can you help me figure out what’s going on?
Best regards.

@madebyuh Thanks for your continued efforts with this while we troubleshoot with you. Have you noticed any issues in general in the admin backend of your site? For example, are you currently able to edit posts or do you encounter any errors when trying this also?
I ask as this may be related to issues with your WordPress REST API, as opposed to a Site Kit specific issue.
@adamdunnage, the only place where I sometimes find errors is with WooCommerce dashboard that also fails to load the stats. But since I use Google as my main source of stats, I don’t check it that much. Otherwise, the rest of the admin seems perfectly fine. If this is an issue with the WordPress REST API, where can I get some help?
@madebyuh Thank you for checking once more. At this stage it is hard to say what the cause is which is why we are checking several different areas. I can see that we have seen some of the server response errors you’ve previously shared have been the result of ModSecurity being enabled and set to strict on the server.
You could try temporarily disabling Modecurity and checking once more. If you’re unsure on how to do this then your hosting provider should be able to assist you with this. When checking, make sure to capture any remaining error messages in Site Kit as well as any browser console errors that appear.

I just followed this topic to my hosting provider to see if they can help me. I’ll update this topic once I get a response. Thank you for your help.
@madebyuh Thanks, we will await your response.
@adamdunnage My hosting provider disabled the ModSecurity temporarily and I reloaded the website and dashboard. I got this on the Console Log: https://imgur.com/IOtMnGH
@madebyuh Thank you for sharing this. As you have shared quite a few different errors throughout this troubleshooting process it would be good if you could share the following:
Please could you share console errors and invalid XHR responses from an incognito session with only Site Kit active (via troubleshooting mode).
Once you share this information I will dig deeper into these to see if I can see what is happening here so that we can get the issues resolved for you. I will also discuss this with the team further once shared.
@adamdunnage, here’s the information you asked: https://imgur.com/a/90u4vsi
@adamdunnage here’s also the Site Diagnostics tab on the Site Kit plugin: https://imgur.com/YxzCctE
@madebyuh Thank you for all the information you have supplied throughout it’s been very helpful. From all the information you have supplied thus far, it looks as though there are many different errors occurring. These errors also look to be intermittent as so screenshots will show particular errors while another does not at that stage. Some of the Site Kit widgets load and other times they do not.
There are also no invalid requests I can see from your XHR response so that all looks good. The 503 errors you have shared also look to be intermittent. I know you have been testing this on Firefox and would also encourage you to try via a Chrome browser too if possible to see if the issues are the same or differ slightly.
You were also able to set up Site Kit without issue on the temporary WordPress site which points towards a hosting issue that could be causing these intermittent issues. We have seen this in the past with other hosts where servers run slow or certain configurations cause issues with the communication for Site Kit.
With everything above in mind, it looks to me to be a hosting related issue. At this point I would suggest working further with your host to see what could be the cause here. Everything on the Site Kit side looks as it should. I hope you can reach a solution for this and get your Site Kit up and running.
@adamdunnage Thanks for your continued help with this issue. It’s actually strange that I don’t get any errors in Chrome like I do in Firefox. I have contacted the host provider and they have told me that everything is running fine and they are not finding any issues with WordPress REST API or any other thing. I’ll make sure to update for future versions to see if any related incidents have been fixed.
@madebyuh Thank you for the updates here. It’s good to hear you don’t see any errors in your Chrome browser. In which case I’d suggest continuing to use that browser when viewing Site Kit. No problem at all for the help!
Is there anything else I can help you with?
@adamdunnage At present, there are no issues. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
