I was wondering if I could get some help with an issue I encountered. My site kit all of a sudden ran into an issue yesterday where it won’t load. When I go to the Site Kit dashboard, I get an error that says
    ‘Data error in Analytics
There has been a critical error on this website.
Learn more about debugging in WordPress.’
I also get an error under the page speed and experience section that says ‘Error: There has been a critical error on this website.
Learn more about debugging in WordPress.’

Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for opening a support topic. To try and determine where this error stems from can you share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Do you notice anything from your overall Site Health status screen (Tools > Site Health > Status > Critical Issues)?
    3. Do you encounter any console errors on the same screen where this message occurs?

Let us know if you have any further queries on the above.

Thanks for sharing. From inspecting the details provided I don’t see anything unusual. While the issue may be with your hosting or WordPress setup and not specific to Site Kit please attempt the below, which can help rule out plugin conflicts:

    1. Login to your site from a browser incognito window
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to setup Site Kit once more

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

Please share whether the same issue occurs. If so please share do you encounter any warnings or notices in your Site Health status screen (Tools > Site Health > Status > Critical Issues)?

I tried to setup in incognito and I still ran into the same issue. I reset the plugin and tried to set everything up again and I am the same error. I also received an email directing me to the page where the error was caught.

Thanks for providing an update. While you’ve attempted setup incognito did you also perform the suggested troubleshooting steps using the Health Check and Troubleshooting steps as above?

I also received an email directing me to the page where the error was caught.

Without sharing any personal information can you describe any insights from this email?

Yes I downloaded the plugin and attempted that as well.

This is what the email said:

    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Site Kit by Google.

First, visit your website (https://www.simply-great-content.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.simply-great-content.com/wp-admin/index.php?oauth2callback=1&code=4/0AY0e-g4RTD9yIWWtVEld0fbPj1zSyDO9CvjBz5ZcomjIXi2iRWBYPQmZ0jPMpV3sUiB-BA&scope=email%20profile%20openid%20https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile%20https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email%20https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters%20https://www.googleapis.com/auth/siteverification&authuser=0&prompt=consent) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can't access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special "recovery mode". This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don't worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:

    Current theme: Crio (version 2.6.3)
Current plugin: Site Kit by Google (version 1.26.0)
